Named 'Fungus,' this creation is a modern freestanding circular mirror. The overall design of the product takes inspiration from the organic shapes of fungi. The standalone design of the mirror provides flexibility in placement, seamlessly integrating into various indoor environments, especially in bedrooms and hallways. The primary materials used in this product are mirror and moka stained ash.

A distinctive feature of 'Fungus' is the presence of two flat, yet deep, discs positioned at the midpoint of the wooden column, providing a convenient space for items such as keys, coins, and personal belongings. The product is assembled into five components, securely connected through rotating screws.

The deliberate choice of moka stained ash as the primary material reflects careful consideration, evoking warmth and earthiness. This unique wood not only adds a touch of natural elegance but also aligns with the sustainable development ethos of 'Fungus.'

This collection of furniture designs centers on creating spaces that appeal to cats, encouraging them to feel secure and stay close to people while also ensuring the furniture is functional for human use. I've chosen to incorporate materials like acrylic, which allows for clear observation of cats, and wood, for its durability. My initial design concept led to various iterations, each reflecting a deeper refinement of my original idea, integrating features like platforms for cats to linger, sheltered spaces crafted with ribbon-like curves, and additional grooved areas for resting.

I also experimented with removing curved table edges in favor of simpler, slanted surfaces and introduced undulating platforms to encourage cats to play. However, these changes reduced the cats' sense of privacy and were less visually pleasing. Recognizing these issues, I see that the result is overly complex and doesn't meet my aesthetic standards. Facing this critique, I am determined to continue refining these designs, aiming to better balance aesthetics, functionality, and the playful and comfortable integration of spaces for cats and their human companions.
